LSOF: Remembering our stones

The message at church was on remembering…

I was quite animated, being as tired as I was, spending time in God’s presense puts fire under me:)

The youth rock out praise, and God was just SO there:)

Mark stood next to me, poor thing had a headache, and the youth hardcore rocking probably didn’t help, but he got through it.

At one point, we were told 2007 was almost over, and I shouted for joy…however I was the only one; and then turned red lol.

Anyway, I loved the message, it was based on the book of Joshua.

Joshua 4
1 When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua,

2 “Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, 3 and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan from right where the priests stood and to carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight.”
4 So Joshua called together the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe, 5 and said to them, “Go over before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, 6 to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 7 tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”
8 So the Israelites did as Joshua commanded them. They took twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, as the LORD had told Joshua; and they carried them over with them to their camp, where they put them down. 9 Joshua set up the twelve stones that had been [
a] in the middle of the Jordan at the spot where the priests who carried the ark of the covenant had stood. And they are there to this day.

After the message we were told to pick a stone out of a basket, and size we chose, and we were to write something we would always remember that Jesus had done in our lives, or a promise we wanted to keep; something to be dedicated at the alter.

I got it in my head, and almost ran to the table, and almost walked into my Pastor.
I am a writer, if I think of something after so long it will go away, so I had to act quick!

Here is what I dedicated to Jesus, whether or not I am supposed to share it with you, I am.

I love you 🙂 and Have a great 2008!

I will always remember my tears that became footprints to guide me in life,
and I will always remember to worship God in spirit and truth!

  1. I love this a lot! I think it’s great to reinact (so to speak) the things of the OT like that. SOME of the OT things of course, not ALL =)There’s power in action like that too. Actually writing it out and committing it to the Lord…Have a great Monday sweets!
