Poem: Broken Silence

Broken Silence
By: Angie Sarich

I find myself finally alone in the room.
Just me and you.
The rest of the world doesn’t exist for the moment.
I breathe a sigh of relief
As the tears pour down my face.
To be still and know,
Doesn’t mean be still and silent.
I know you long to hear my voice,
And I long and desire to feel your presence.
I feel this rush of the Holy Spirit all around me.
I’m right where I need to be.
I’m right where you want me to be.
I know I don’t even need to say a word,
Just to listen to your voice in the silence,
Makes me want to fall to the floor,
And just worship, and just bask in
You Holy presence.
My words are few.
My heart is filled to the brim.
But not as easily broken.
As many times before.
You given me a new strength,
A new outlook to the horizon ahead of me.
And my prize awaits.
For when you see I am fit to have it
All the way around.
I want to make you proud,
I want to give my all.
It begins with the idea,
But then you finish the whole chapter.
I choose to be more than just words on paper,
But to be animated enough in this life.
That they saw your blinding light,
That is what is truly worth it.
That is what I long to accomplish
But I’ll need a little help,
And you have never been one
To make me figure all the answers alone.
You are God. You set the stage.
It is up to me, to take the first step.
Beyond the audition.
