Waking to Psalm 5

Today is an anniversary of being led to Psalm 5.
I wrote the date in the margin.

I remember waking up to hearing my parents fighting about something tedious. However, it was tedious also because it was about 5am.
Mom was having surgery early that morning. I waited until they left. I was overcome with such emotion, because something they fought over; the tedious thing; had to do with something about me. About my faith.

I got on my knees, and I begged God to give me comfort, to help me in the time of persecution.

I went to my bible, and randomly opened it to this:

Psalm 5
For the director of music. For flutes. A psalm of David.
1 Give ear to my words, O LORD,
consider my sighing.

2 Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.

3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.

I’m not one to tell you to just randomly open the bible, but I will tell you I could have almost heard God himself speak audibly, that’s how amazing this was to read. It was 5am, and God was WIDE awake:)

I don’t usually remember when I learned certain scriptures, but this one was special.

In the morning, God heard my voice.

That morning, I was sure of it.
