” I’m Already There…”

There is this song by Lonestar, ” I’m Already There…” and it is about a man calling his family while he is away. He is sad he could not be there with them, but to comfort himself and his family he just answers:

I’m already there
Take a look around
I’m the sunshine in your hair
I’m the shadow on the ground

I’m the whisper in the wind
I’m your imaginary friend
And I know, I’m in your prayers
Oh I’m already there

Music touches my heart so deeply when it comes to my faith, because I read lyrics not in the sense of what the song is trying to convey but what I believe God is speaking to me through it. It doesn’t have to be a Christian song at all, God speaks through everything.

I brought this particular song up, because there is a verse that has been on my heart for the past few weeks. It is interesting, because this particular verse that is found out of Deuteronomy was a concept I saw inside the verse last year. God speaks through what He knows we already know.

Before I go into this verse in Deuteronomy 31:8, I want to share a bit about the beginning of Deuteronomy 31, and give an idea as to what is happening.

Picture Moses, Joshua, and the Isrealites standing on the edge of the river. Moses is 120 years old. He has done what God had asked of him, and God was ready to raise up a leader in Joshua.
Moses knew that the people would be hesitant to leave him, but also knew he needed to prepare the people that his journey with them had come to an end.

“I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The LORD has said to me, ‘You shall not cross the Jordan.’ The LORD your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the LORD said.” (Deuteronomy 31:2-3)

I think what might be being said here is that the people would not be able to face the nations before them until an appointed time. God had to cross over first, and then he would have Joshua follow Him.

I love how it did not go like this, ” Joshua will go ahead of you, and we hope he finds God there.”

Just as Moses was preparing the Isrealites for his departure with them, I would suggest that knowing Joshua no longer had Moses for a leader, that he was handed the staff and in Moses eyes it could have been said, ” Your Lord God will cross over before YOU.” He might have wanted Joshua to know that he would not be leading the people alone or blindly. He might have said that to first and foremost comfort Joshua.

The LORD will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31: 5-6)

Moses shares that the nations would be delivered to them, which is exactly why God told them to stay put and wait. God would know exactly what the best plan would be for the people. He tells them there is no reason to be afraid. God already knows the outcome.

“Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:7-8)

There is a pattern we can see in Deuteronomy 31 that I have not seen with other scripture. Moses tells the people: ” The Lord God will crossover before you,” ” The Lord goes with you,” ” The Lord himself, goes before you, and will be with you.”

I love how God never once says he is going ahead of them without saying that He will also be with them.

I think too often we forget that God knows the plans He has for us, but that He does not leave us to take them on alone. He is there with us through the journey.

I know as someone who is preparing to be led a different direction in my life, one that means it is a journey He leads, but that I follow; that there will be people following my footsteps too.

As many times as I’ve seen this verse the last few weeks in Deuteronomy 31:8, I can’t help but hear God saying loudly to my heart, ” I got this, I have your back, if you get discouraged…I may be ahead of you, but I’m still right here.”

We are not meant to go through this life alone, regardless of how much knowledge we think we have on accomplishing something, and regardless what position we have, we need to know we have support, we need to know God is there, and that He will place people in our lives that help to mold us into what He needs us to become for His namesake.

God is going to ask us to lead. It might mean we are going to have to put something down. It might mean the things we have to let go of might be people in our life. It might mean we have to change who we are so much that it takes a toll on us. It might mean that we might have to lose our lives completely for the cost of following Christ.

Whatever it means for us. He already knows, He was already there.

We are standing in his footprint.

LSOF: Heart Wisdom

There was a simulcast this weekend, with an amazing message. If you want to check it out, see earlier posts.

I always try to get an underlying message for myself to hear. One that doesn’t necessarily come through from the speaker audibly.

The message for me was that I don’t need to be a scholar to be able to share wisdom with the world about Jesus. What He has done in my life, and who I’ve come to know Him as, I personally do not think could be found in any research article. There are just somethings that cannot be studied.

And its those accounts that one experiences on their own, when the pen and paper are put away, when the cameras are gone, and when the crowd has better things to do…

I sat with a lady during the simulcast who I shared about my experience with the pit and that you can indeed be put in it due to obedience.

Her eyes got wide, and she sort of seemed to let out a breath of deep relief.

I don’t know what it was that she had gone through, but it was at that moment she needed to hear that she wasn’t alone, and that she was doing in her life what was God’s purpose.

My experiences with pain and Him restoring me, have taught me to not be ashamed what I should share with anyone. We all have darkness that has been apart of our lives. It is through knowing darkness exists that we will search to find the light.

I want to share that I have deep respect and esteem for Beth Moore. I’ve done many of her studies, but I learned we had something more in common. She got to know Jesus more through her pain. Knowing that has helped me to love on others with my story. There are still areas where pain exists in my life, but I had to learn that God’s healing overshadows it.

God loves me. God cares for me. God protects me. God delivers me. God knows where I am. God understands how I feel. God changes me. God restores me. God heals me. God will be the only one that will help me live my life victoriously.

Someone told me a few months back that I helped restore their faith in God, and without sharing much more I’ll say that now she wants nothing to do with God.

My heart has taught me that when it comes to God, you have to work at knowing Him. You have to work at loving Him, and trusting Him. There are no quick fixes.

We go through the fires in life, because we need to get burned. We need to experience that God binds up our wounds.

I’m sad for those who choose what is temporary instead of true hope.
My pain was real, but because of it, I know my faith is real.
So all those scholars out there, who think they have all the answers…
I can assure you they don’t…

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”

3. God never overlooks a single, ” ME” in a bigger, ” WE”-

Luke penned the book of Luke and Acts, because it seemed to be good to him.

Acts 28:30
30 For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. 31 He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!

” God can do a whole lot behind locked doors.”

When we think we are there for someone else…
(Luke wrote more verses then any gospel: Luke: 2,157 Paul: 2,032

Luke just decided to write. ” It seemed also good to me.”(Luke 1:1-4)

” If you have a heart to do His will, You will be in His will.”


We want to be exceptional, special, but NOT also…
but we are called to be, ” If seemed good to me ALSO.”

Examples of vs Beth gave with ” ALSO”-

Luke 12:8, John 10:16, John 14:3, John 14:19, Romans 1:6, Romans 8:30,32, 1 Corinthians 6:14, Ephesians 1:11,13, 2 Timothy 2, 1 Peter 2:5, 1 John 1:3, Colosians 3:4, and 2 Timothy 4:7,8.

Luke wrote the 3, 5 book in the NT.

She reminds us of the Savior that healed the Centurion.

2 The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold.

Luke 1:1-4

Luke wrote books, not letters.

Luke 1:1 and Acts 1:1-
“Theophilius”–> ” Theos” God, “Philos”-Friend. (friend of God.)

Some scholars believed:
– It was all symbolic, It was a pseudonym–> for others, some believed it was someone he knew.

Luke gave Theophilius an ” Honorific” title.

Luke 7:31-35
31 Jesus went on to say, “To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:

“‘We played the pipe for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not cry.’

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children.”

– Compare people of this generation…
– Wisdom is proved right by all her children…
– ” Sometimes you don’t know what is right until it bears out its harvest.”

” You call me friend of Sinners-” (vs. 47)

Luke 7:47
47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

Jesus anointed the sinful woman, but it was the Pharisees that were the sinners.

” Thank God we have a Savior that is drawn to weakness.”

With Jesus, outcast, became insiders.

Beth Moore used an author to describe Luke, It sounded like: U-sib-e-us. But no clue who he is-

He said that Luke knew ” The art of curing souls.”

Luke 5:17

17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick.

Luke 5:31
31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

Luke 13:10-16
10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”

15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”


She ” could not straighten up at all.”

Beth talked about how she understands what its like to not be able to ” straighten up.” She said someone in her life told her she would be pregnant before she was 16.

“Your victory is in His authority.”
Take the thing you are most ashamed of and bring it to the Lord.

Insecurity makes us turn to the left when we want to go to the right.
” Our own hearts will lie to us before anyone.”

Ezekiel 16:4
4 On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.

4. Jesus became a friend of sinners so that we could become a friend of God.

” Grace has been given to you from a whole lot of people, and you are with-holding it from someone.”

– Forgiveness: ” Afe-ame” send some forth by not just action but lifestyle.

1 Corinthians 12:27-30
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

Love Is Indispensable

And yet I will show you the most excellent way.


Love- is to be excellent or honorific; we are called to love.

Luke 1:1-4

Acts 1:3
3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

It is A LOT of information, so I am writing out points little at a time, there is a total of 7…and I think we definitely should be able to sink it in a little at a time…the simulcast was a lot!

The opening:

Luke 1:1-4

 We learn that Luke is the physician, and wrote the book of Luke, and the book of Acts.

2 Timothy 2:22

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

 We are called to have company with others who call upon Christ.

2 Timothy 4:5-12

5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

 6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

 These were the last words to Timothy.

Personal Remarks

 9 Do your best to come to me quickly, 10 for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. 

 If you have ever been betrayed by a friend, or had abandonment Paul knew what that was like as Demas deserted him.

11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry. 12 I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.

 “ Only Luke is with me.” –

Colossians 4:10-14

10 My fellow prisoner Aristarchus sends you his greetings, as does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. (You have received instructions about him; if he comes to you, welcome him.) 11Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews[a] among my co-workers for the kingdom of God, and they have proved a comfort to me. 12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. 13 I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis. 14 Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings.

 This is where we learn that Luke is the physician.

Acts 16:6-7

6 Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. 7 When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.


Acts 16:11-12

11 From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day we went on to Neapolis. 12 From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district[a] of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.

 We see it go from They to WE.

Luke and Paul met in Antioch, because of Paul’s illness.

Christian means, “ Little Christs”-

Galatians 4:12-15

12 I plead with you, brothers and sisters, become like me, for I became like you. You did me no wrong. 13 As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you, 14 and even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself. 15 Where, then, is your blessing of me now? I can testify that, if you could have done so, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.

 “ Alone Together”- Term for social networking, everyone feels more alone then ever.

1. We were created for good company.

“ If we want good company, we have to be good company.”

Have pure heart in relationships.

1 Peter 1:22

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.

 1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

 We go through a cycle confession to destruction over and over.

“ Don’t just read the word, actually try to live it.”

“ Disobedience to God deforms the heart, and as it says in 1 Peter 1:22,

“ Obedience reforms the heart.”

“When we look for people to fellowship with, we need to know those who walk in obedience have souls that have been purified.”

Philippians 1:9-10

9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ…

Love with knowledge.

2. Individual calling can only be fulfilled in a “we” context.

None of us were to fulfill our calling on our own.

I don’t have a WEE calling, I have a WE calling.

We have to lose our self-consciousness.

“ We can guard our dignity right out of epiphany.”

“ TCTBB- Too cool to be blessed.”

Luke was a second generation Christian- He wasn’t there for the encounter of Christ from the beginning.

What would happen if we studied the scriptures according to the scriptures? Instead of looking for a scripture that applies to us, what would happen if we just looked at scripture?


Her-me-neutic- method of principle or interpretation.

Instead of looking for how something applies to us, and doing something for us, instead let us see how it applies to Jesus, and what we are doing, what we are doing for Jesus….what is the true purpose?

What if Jesus was the hermeneutic?

LSOF: Walk In It

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21)

Picture a battlefield. Picture bombs, granades, and shots firing all around. Picture others falling at your side. Some fall and are defeated
and never rise again.

Some get up from the place they are wounded, and get up, and prepare themselves to fight again.

In relating this to our circumstances we face everyday…which are you?

Are you someone who has been hurt so many times that you live paranoid of being hurt?
Are you someone who is just letting life pass you by, because everything you’ve wanted in life
hasn’t turned out the way you wanted it to?
Are you someone who has let the world decide who you are, and you spend your time looking in the mirror and being disgusted with yourself?
Are you someone who feels like, because of the life you’ve been raised in that your life is meant for failure?
Are you someone who can’t take a compliment from someone, because you can’t believe you are really beautiful or good at something?

My friend I am sorry to tell you, but if you can relate to any of these in your present moment…
You are defeated.

You are the person who is lying helpless on the ground after being shot. Your wounds run deep, but you are still breathing.

I need to repeat this…YOU ARE STILL BREATHING!

The people who can get up after being wounded:

They have been hurt deep. They have scars. They are in constant pain. But they also realize…
The battle is about more than fighting.
It’s a test of our where we place our hope.

Consider something God brought to my heart this morning:

I am someone whose had my share of being wounded. I definitely have scars on the inside of my heart.
I have been betrayed by many people in my life. I have opened my heart, and its been broken many times.
I have been rejected, I have been called a failure, I have a constant fight with my own insecurities.
I have a never-ending fight that God is real.

I understand when your circumstances are less then great, its hard to believe that there is any reason or purpose in any of it.

There is.

What God shared with me is that in each time we do become wounded, we get up and we walk a little differently than we did before. We still take a hit, but our hearts learn not to be affected as much.
God tweaks how we have dealt with things in the past.
He shows us WHO WE ARE each time we face something. We learn more about ourselves, and the
worth we have in Him.
Our character.

Someone said to me the other day with a situation, ” If its happened more than once, what are the chances you are going to face it again?”

Wow. Not something any of us really want to hear, because plain and simple. It WILL happen again.
It will happen until the purpose of it happening has been fulfilled.

I know that sounds kind of funny to read ” until the purpose has been fulfilled,” because we seem to forget that we are in God’s plan…that we are just as much apart of the pages of the Bible as Moses and Abraham.

We are

We need to learn that when times get rough, when we are faced with situations and circumstances, to let God change our attitudes AT THAT TIME. See the circumstance through God’s eyes.
We have to also be expectant that He will do it.
No one expects you to just let something go. But they do expect you to give some of it to God.
He has the power to handle anything and everything in our lives.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to let myself be defeated by the past, present, or the future.
God is in control of all of it. And He has made it safe for us to walk in it.
He wants us to live free, and not defeated.

I’ve had a lot of healing from just looking at it in the perspective that God has taught ME something more through this or that situation. I learn more of who I am, and what I truly stand for.
I learn about the condition of my heart. I learn the difference of how I handled the thing before, to how I handled it now.

And I gotta tell you, it made me smile with tears in my eyes.

Our greatest weapon that we have against defeat…
Is to GET UP anyway.

If you allow things in your life to bring you down…THEY WILL.

We have to smile and realize we are free from what we are facing.
It is something that is temporary, and it will pass.
We have to realize that there is something MORE ahead,
maybe good, and realize maybe not…

The important thing above all is to know
We are being prepared.

And we get up off the ground, and WE WALK IN IT!

Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and in you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.(1 John 2:8)

The people who have no hope in this world are those who have never experienced it.
And will deny it exists.

I’m sorry to say, but the only way you are going to get up, is if you believe that God has more planned for your life, that He loves you enough to heal you.

He does.

I loved the story of the man who was found out in the ocean after the Tsunami hit.
He said, ” I have no house, no wife, but I still have my hope.”

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. (Isaiah 57:1)

Truthfully my friends, all things will pass away.
People, and possessions…

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.(1 Corinthians 13:8)

But the one thing that we have that is powerful above all things…
is HOPE. No one can take it from you…
unless you let them.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

He will WIPE EVERY TEAR from your eyes. Just give it sometime. Get out in the battlefield.

He’s already taken the hit for you.

And He got up.

LSOF: The Hope, The Voice…and what’s meaningless

I have a question for you.
What would you do today, if you knew you would die tomorrow?
Would you be able to say that you did everything in life that didn’t just matter to you, BUT actually made a difference in the world?
After we leave this earth, it will still go on the same way without us.
Will our voice be left in a heart of another, or lost in the wind?

I’d like to think that I’ve made a difference by being open and sharing on this blog, and in the world.
I’d like to think that someone who was very lost has come here and
found some hope.
I’d like to think that someone was inspired to go after something they believed in by my words…
But then I also know, in the grand scheme of things, there is a bigger picture than that.
In the grand scheme of things, while I want to make a huge difference in the world, the epidemic that is very real for all of us will exist always…
The epidemic of HOPE.

There will never be enough food to feed the hungry, There will never be enough money to solve every person’s debt, There will never be complete peace in the world, There will never be enough love to reach every person, There will never be enough things that can be
said to change someone’s life…

It’s MEANINGLESS. All of it.
And I know that sounds harsh, but its very true.
We often forget that HOPE isn’t something WE can bring,
It’s something WE can only teach…and then move on.

There are countries in Africa where people are so far out in the desert that regardless of how much food and water is brought to them, they will still go hungry, people will still die.

I’m just honestly, and truly simply tired that we think that what we DO will make a difference in this world.
It has NOTHING to do with that.

Anyone can go overseas and give someone food and water,
but then what else? What can you give to someone when all of it is gone?

I’m not saying not to give food and water, I’m just trying to help
to see the reality of it all.

Now the word ” inspire”…and its a word that is almost a counterfeit of ” Hope” ,
its not real to someone unless that inspiration creates a voice in
someone else that is THEIR own,
that they learn who they are and what they are about. They believe that God is the center of who
they are. NOT what someone tells them they are like.

Anyone can create an IMAGE. And that image could also very well destroy a person’s life.

And I just have to add along these same lines that, ” American
Idol,” is not a show that is meant to bring hope, it just brings, ” inspiration”….
We tell others to go after their dreams, but a dream is lost when there is no hope to be found
in the first place. HOPE has to start with the heart that walks on the stage, nothing will carry our voice
any further.

Instead of teaching others that they have a ” voice”, how about we start with teaching them that
there is a ” voice” already there and will speak louder in their lives,
God will magnify who they are.

Hope is something we teach to others, and it is from the heart of God.
He wants people to know they will never truly go hungry if we know Him.
He wants us to know that the hearts debt means more than the
He wants us to know that peace isn’t something that will happen around us,
but inside of us.
He wants us to know that love does not start in the arms of a stranger,
but in the arms of a Savior.
And He wants us to know, only HE can change a life…

God doesn’t care about WHAT we are. He cares about WHO we are.

Everything is meaningless if the hope of God is not in the same picture.

God will always be there for us, and He will never forsake us.
In HIM, our hope is found.
We can’t find it in fame and fortune,
We can’t find it through a website, just like this.
We can’t find it through watching a video,
We can’t find it by reading a book…

Remember that INSPIRATION, is NOT Hope!
I almost can say that to inspire someone is to give them a dose of medicine
that will last for a short time. Sadly, people can get addicted to this.

Hope is found at the cross. Where Jesus died for you and for me.
Hope is found when you are flat on your face and you don’t know how to face the next day.
Hope is found when you are alone in a room and no one can hear you cry.
Hope is found when you lose everything, and you realize its the ONE thing that’s
going to get your through.

When Jesus is all you have, Jesus is all you need.” – Tim Wolfe

And for those of you out there that don’t know what hope really is, when someone shares with you about faith, about God…when they teach you about His love, His peace, HIS HOPE…
then you need to take what they’ve taught you and seek MORE yourself…
No one can bring HOPE to your life…they can inspire you on how to find it…
BUT NO ONE can bring hope to your life…

If they could.
We wouldn’t need Jesus.


(Ecclesiastes 2:17-26)

So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a
chasing after the wind.
I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me.
And who knows whether that person will be wise or foolish? Yet they will have control over all the fruit of my toil into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. This too is meaningless.
So my heart began to despair over all my toilsome labor under the sun.
For a person may labor with wisdom, knowledge and skill, and then they must leave all they own to another who has not toiled for it. This too is meaningless and a great misfortune.
What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun?
All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.
A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God,
for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?
To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

LSOF: ” So Long Insecurity,” notes…

I am not even to the point of processing this weekend, but I do want to make sure someonelse gets a good Word like I did,
so for now here are the notes, and when I can I will write about it all:)

Ephesians 4:1- ” I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”

” No longer live as gentiles do..”
(Futility of their thinking…)

Eph 4:22-24- “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Put off old self)

” Grace isn’t an excuse to be living in old bondage..Grace is an excuse to be completely made new.”

A woman who is secure:

S- Saved from herself

” Human mind is twisted by idolitrist-self interest.”

(Homo Incurratus en se- A human being curved upon oneself.)

” Insecurity makes us curve back on ourselves, like a curling back of a piece of plywood”

Can humility and security exist? Will it lead to pride?

” Security can make us feel enough of ourselves, to not be obsessed with ourselves.”

E- Entitled to truth

The world teaches us to be valuable we have to be sensable, (vs. 22)

C- Clothed with Intention
” A woman dresses on purpose.”

U- Upended by Grace

LSOF: Blog post number 501!


It occured to me this morning as I took a glance at my number of posts…and um, I reached #500 yesterday!
I would say its either a very exciting accomplishment, or I just write too much:)

Anyhow, I decided to tune down the appearance a little bit. I am in the process of reinventing somethings in life right now,
and it just helps where everythingelse is ” a clean slate”.

First things first…I DID get a job yesterday:)
It is such a relief to finally be employed again:)

This weekend I am planning for a great time. I am driving to the otherside of Georgia to meet up with some very special ladies at ” So Long, Insecurity” conference with Beth Moore.

I have met a few of these gals before, but this is the big deal of the year:)
So many of them coming, I have known who they were in blogworld since 2006, but never met them face to face!

So I am beyond excited!- It will be such a time to remember:)

I am then going to take a mini trip to Nashville to see some other sweet people and experience that beautiful place for
a little bit.

We should all take little trips like these sometimes, just get away and take it in:) This one has been planned since October, and I KNOW it is going to be a blast!

Anyway, so this is what I spent my time talking about on my #501 post…I’m sorry:)

Fran, Jenny, Teri, Beckyjo, Abby, Lindsee, Kate, Tammy, Angela, Nikki, Lisa, Janice, Jan, Steph, Kim, Robyn, Pam and etc LOL,…I’ll see you soon!

And thanks to Amanda Jones, and Beth Moore for creating LPM blog, because of it, there are lasting friendships that
never would have happened had it not been for the blog:)

Oh, and THANKS for making ” So Long, Insecurity” too Beth!- It’s been a life-changing book and I am praying like crazy that lives are changed!


LSOF: Deeperstilled…

Over a year ago, I attended ” Living Proof Live” with Beth Moore.

I got to meet some wonderful people, hear a good word, and just bask in the presence of God.

But my heart did not attend that conference that day.

It’s easy to get wrapped up in emotion of things.

It’s easy to sing songs, and shout out a few “amens” and ” hallelujahs”, but all of all of it is just

” going through the motions” unless your relationship with Jesus is solid.

Mine at the time was not.

A warning to you dear friends; you can be ” going through the motions” and never realize you are doing it!

I did however have a good friend reach out to me. Georgia Jan was standing behind me at the conference. We prayed together, and she told me to ” get out” of the religion that I was entangled in. I can’t believe to this day that I even told her about it. I wrote a letter to Living Proof telling them of my experience and how I was a changed person after the conference and blah,blah, blah.

So I look back on that letter, and that prayer time with Jan, and in my heart I knew

I had lied to myself, and to them.

It wasn’t a lie I recognized though, it was a lie that made me instead just quit blogging, and ignoring facebook messages, and

text messages from my siestas.

Eventually, I did fall back into the religious cult I was into before.

Because my way out wouldn’t be through a conference, or a prayer with a friend…

My way out was only through GRACE alone, and I think this bares repeating,

Beth Moore is amazing, and my friend Jan is amazing..and all those from my church who told me to stay away from the religious cult I heard them speak…but inside I didn’t understand what was going on from the inside or the outside of me.

It wasn’t until I was on the floor curled up in tears that I saw Jesus again, face to face; but getting to that point was a long journey.

Deeper Still was an seriously phenomenal conference, but it had nothing to do with Kay, Priscilla, Beth or my siestas and friends I saw while I was there…

I received a very sweet phone call a few days before the conference, and it so blessed me.

I heard Ephesians 3:20-21 in my heart after the call.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

The funny thing was, I heard the verse, but I was so used to hearing it and saying it, that I lost focus on what the true message of it was!

I gave a list already of the people I got to meet and see at the conference, but let me just tell you that it was as if God had planned a special day for me, as in like a spiritual party to show me how proud He was of me for sticking with it, after hitting rock bottom a good 7 months ago.

” God’s word is alive and active and sharper than any two-edge sword” OH AMEN TO THAT!

Priscilla got up to speak, and I am all thinking to myself, ” Oh this will be a good message.” And I can say to you now how much that was an underestimate! God BLEW me away with her message, which interesting enough didn’t have to do with a few verses here and there from Ephesians but EPHESIANS 3:20-21!!!!

Ya, I was a bit floored, and I felt those tears rise up in my eyes.

Oh Jesus, and your surprises:) I love you!

At the end of the conference it was the sweetest thing that God did for me. I of course had already spent sometime chatting with Shelly and Jan, and seeing many other wonderful people; prayed with my friend Alli….just so much good time.

But meeting Beth Moore, that was a very special moment for me. It was almost as if God was standing right there saying to me, ” Okay, Angie, I have one more thing I would like to bless you with today.” When she processed who I was, I saw her face light up, and if I wasn’t in shock I probably would have cried. I watched so many other people reach out to hug her neck, but she was the one to reach out and hug mine. Something I will never forget.

Thank you for the wonderful presents Jesus:)

I don’t know how many of you went to the conference with some uncertainty of what God had for your life, or if you even knew Jesus at all, but I can tell you if your heart is 100% solid for Him, and you don’t worry about what others have to say about the faith you have, and let me just place emphasis on ” YOUR FAITH” then God will bless you and have a Bible verse stalk you to a conference you attend.

I loved Kay and Beth’s messages too. Beth’s message on ” Spiritual Discernment” really hit home for this girl, because I have been THROUGH it.

We have to love with smart eyes, we can’t just let ourselves trust everyone on the planet or we will get hurt. Even if someone says they are a Christian, they can still be ” a wolf in sheeps clothing.” I have encountered that being in the deep religious cult I was apart of for 6 months of my life. These people told me they loved me, and that they would always be there for me…I was told to get rid of my ” Christian” stuff.

But the one true God stood up, and He helped me to get rid of it from my life.

So I ask you to please just hear me on something, next time you go to church, or a conference or whatever it may be,

make sure you have had sometime with Jesus first, make sure you KNOW who Jesus is.

Because our heart can deceive us as soon as the enemy shares his message notes.

Spiritual Discernment is for a time when you have been:
taken advantage of

2 Timothy 3:12-13

We always do before we know what to do

Ephesians 3:20

Two dimensions of spiritual revelation we desperately need to have:

1- In our human encounters
2- Can I trust what I am sensing?

Here are four question we can ask ourselves:

1. Am I critical or suspicious by nature?
2. Am I jealous or feel threatened by this person?
3. Do I have anything selfish to gain from the outcome?
4. Are my emotions clouding my discernment?

Phillipians 1:9-10

Learn to love others with knowledge and insight.

2 Timothy 3

Do not confuse living people without the discernment to back away from them.

2 Timothy 3:6

We gotta learn to go with our spiritual gut.
We can’t walk in the spirit without walking in intimacy.

Show me a Godly woman I’ll show you a woman who persued Godliness.

Did the spirit within me remain steadfast?
